18 of 100 - rainbow by *SirMischa:iconSirMischa:

somewhere over the rainbow
children cry
somewhere over the rainbow
dreams nothing do but die.

somewhere I went to get away
I want to laugh out loud some day
to save me

I wish upon a silent star
to wake up where the fear is far
but you'll see:

somewhere over the rainbow
children cry
somewhere over the rainbow
death reigns, oh my oh my.

Nr.18 :D .. Of course you will have recognised the song. It's from the wonderful wizard of Oz. Judy Garlands song "over the rainbow" .. don't know who wrote it but I liked the idea to give this wonderful song the akward text. :-)

I liked it, it has a happy but somber feeling to it.

I really don't know where these ideas come from but I like them, when they're out :-) Great to see that someone actually reads AND likes some of my stuff :D thanks!

I really liked it. As I was reading it I got the tune for Over the Rainbow from the Wizard of Oz in my head and thought that your poem could replace those lyrics pretty easily if you wanted to do a twist on the song.

thank you :aww: When I read your comment I thought that I'd forgotten to mention that the poem's inspired by the song, but : It's in the comment :D I didn't want it to look like plagiarism .. I'm happy that you got the idea I was trying to convey. thanks again
