8 of 100 - innocence by *SirMischa:iconSirMischa:

"They have the rosy tint of innocence, as many things do from a distance"
M. Attwood, Oryx and Crake

rosy cheeks and true blue eyes
with fair fair hair quite fairy-wise
a girl that would be charged with nought
a girl, you'd think, from heaven brought

she stabs her dad with all her might
which dyes her hands with red so bright
and innocently she does say:
"I didn't like his stupid way".

Author's Comments

I've had a hard time about this one ... inspiration wouldn't come to me and I didn't want to write another poem of the series as I want to write them in correct order. Then I've read Oryx and Crake from Attwood in an introductory course to ethical criticism and found this line about innocence .. that was my starting point... then at last I had an idea and that's the poem. number 8 of the 100 :-)
